I bought a 1937 Ford 5 window coupe recently, and the previous owners daughter had a Suzuki Savage, I loved the looks of the bike, and have been researching this forum for information on potential problem areas. In our local trading post there was a 1987 model advertised for $800 dollars US. I called the owner and he had a spare engine, helmet, spare drive belt, carburetor, rear wheel, and another wheel with a nice front tire, although the front wheel did not fit a Savage, also a spare belt guard, and spare exhaust system complete. The bike has a little over 19,000 miles on it and he said it uses no oil and I saw no evidence of leaks anywhere. I am planning on repainting the painted parts, and polishing the chrome and aluminum parts over this winter to get her ready for spring. Thanks for all the information, i have not ridden a motorcycle in 26 years, previously owned a 900 Kawasaki, and a Harley, but that was in the early Seventies. I have worked on cars ofr 30 years and recently retired, looking foreward to the first ride. The bike runs fine and everything works, but I need to get a motorcycle license again, its been a long time.
Thanks again for the imput
Regards
Gary
